Few days ago, there was an excursion organized by my school. We went to the NSW Art Gallery and focused on this exhibition called “Matisse and the Moderns.” It was filled with famous artist like Pablo Picasso. I was really excited as this was the first time I went to this huge Gallery with my friends and teachers. Moreover, there are so many fabulous and 1interesting artworks that catches my attention. Right away I realized, this is going to be interesting
From those amazing artworks, there was this art piece that caught my attention right away. It is I called “Sailing Boats at Chatou” It was so unique that when I first stepped into the exhibition, I went right toward that art work! It felt as if like I have been under a spell, it attracted me right away like I was pulled by a magnetic force.
The painting was filled with vibrant colours and unique brush strokes. It was so vibrant that even when I stand further away from the painting, it was the only one that I could see. I realized how important colours are. Just by the bright colours, it could attract people right away. This artist, Maurice de Vlaminck has been inspired by Van Gogh and began to use vibrant colour and very strong brush strokes.
In my opinion, this exhibition was to show us the different movements that represent modern art work and to tell us the history, whereby the artists tried lots of different technique for the master pieces that led to improvement in art in this modern day life. After the excursion I realized that I should really appreciate their different techniques.
The excursion really engaging and it was a fulfilling day. I really loved the exhibition in the Gallery. I was beautifully organized and filled with amazing master pieces. I really recommend you visit the NSW ART Gallery soon. I am telling you, you will not regret it! But you will regret if you miss it!
